Treasure Island is my favorite book of all time. I first read it when I was eight and my best friend, Sarah, recommended it. I still have the copy that I bought in 1990 from Walden Books in Lexington Center. Every time I re-read it I find new details but what really keeps me coming back again and again is the depth of the characters, especially the most memorable...Long John Silver.

I have two projects in the works related to Treasure Island.

The first is that I am creating my own special edition of it with beautiful edges, illustrations, and annotations.

The second is that I am writing a sequel that will be a big epic sweeping adventure romance! John Silver is married and has plans to meet up with his wife after they retrieve the treasure. But while he has a better fate than any of the other mutineers, he doesn't come away with treasure (at least not more than a small handful), so what's going to happen when he gets back to her?
